The Namesake (2007)

This is the story of Gogol, an Indian American who finds himself in between two very different cultures of two very different countries. His parents, Ashoke (Irrfan Khan) and Ashima (Tabu), remind Gogol that he must embrace his roots as an Indian and incorporate their heritage in his American lifestyle. Of course, Gogol tries to shut out his parents foreign influence and create a new identity as any typical American teenager would.
Based of off the novel by Juhumpa Lahiri, The Namesake shows us that in the journey going forward, we must always remember to look back. Just maybe, we’ll find what we have been searching for all along.
