Nothing like summer-lovin’ on a spring-like day in Brooklyn…in late February
My friend Cara and I were headed to Brooklyn from the Upper East Side when she got called into the hospital to work on a case.
While I waited to hear back from her, I hopped onto the L train, hopped off at Bedford Avenue and meandered towards the Williamsburg Bridge. GoogleMaps had me turn on S 4th Street where I found Summers.
In desperate need to charge my phone and recharge myself from the night before over a coffee (or two), I sat at the counter facing the street and people-watched the Brooklynites dressed for the spring weather. And nothing says spring dressing in Brooklyn like destroyed denim hems with chunky espadrilles, cropped chiffon flares with slip-on sandals, and all black everything.
The shop, located at 155 S 4th Street, transports you to somewhere in SoCal with its laid-back, surf-skate vibe. I wish I had an appetite, because the menu looks pretty incredible for a healthy breakfast or quick brunch. You can (almost) never go wrong with ordering an avocado toast and a cold-pressed juice at a place that values fresh and local ingredients.
I’m planning on coming back to Brooklyn soon, so I’ll have to try it and see what happens.
It’s probably dope.
