The Alliance Française of Greenwich, Connecticut will host the 18th annual Focus on French Cinema film festival starting Thursday, April 20, 2023, through Sunday, April 30, 2023.
Many films will also be available for virtual screenings to enjoy in the comfort of your own home through April 30, but here’s a list of the in-person events to attend at the Avon Theatre in Stamford, CT, and the Greenwich Library:

What is the Alliance Française?
According to the Alliance française website, the mission of the non-profit organization is “to promote the French language and francophone cultures and to foster exchanges between French speakers and local communities. Founded in Paris in 1883, the Alliance Française currently boasts more than 800 chapters in 130 countries, with over half a million students worldwide.”
Each chapter hosts programming and events year-round that are open to members.

The cost of an annual membership at the Alliance française may vary based on location. The Alliance Française in Greenwich offers an individual adult membership starting at $75 while an expanded membership for a nominal increase also includes access to French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) based in New York City. If you are a student, there is also a discounted membership rate listed on their website.
